I'm Nate a currently deployed "Weather Guy" with the Marine Corps. I'm here to help pass the time and learn a few things before I turn my 70 Javelin into a drag car. I'm also a HUGE FSJ fan, I still like the CJs but I'd perfer an FSJ. My dad has always owned one he currently owns an orange w/blue levi interior 78 Honcho. He put an 82 sport side box on it and put round tail lights on it to match the front. Tough looking even though it is rusted to oblivion. The time difference keeps me from chatting with all you guys  but plan to soke in a ton of info while here. I just turned 24 Feb 25th. I also plan on having a restored 69 AMX 390 4spd upon my return to Council Bluffs Iowa (my home town). It won't be a rotisery job as it WILL be driven and occationally raced. If you want to see the Javelin and AMX send me your e-mail and I'll send the pics. I can't go to the site you all said to go to to post pics because they're all blocked so you'll have to bear with me. On the pictures.

FuzzFace2
FuzzFace2 AKA Dave PC tech, break/fix, hardware/software, help desk support unemployed at this time (damn out source over seas!)
Not too much in to the Jeep side of AMC but have trailed & raced with guys that had Jeeps (I had an FJ40 toy) so I under stand that side of it.
I would say I am more into the street & drag racing side of AMC at this time.
I have a 75 v8 GremlinX 304/auto with 64K on it for the street, can’t bring myself to modify it too much-Holley 500 v2, shift kit, lock right locker 2.78 gear 16 sec ¼ mile.
Needs to have the body gone over again but is on the road.
Drag car is a 70 Javelin had a 304/TH400 just built a 360 (74 stock lower end) 291 stock heads, Comp 280 cam (should of gone for the 290), Holley 650 or 750 dp carb (got to do testing yet), Edel torker w/1” 4 hold spacer, 1 7/8 Hooker super comp headers, 4000 stall converter (was for the 304), TH400 manual reverse valve body, 4.56 gear with a locker & Moser axles, tubes/spring perches welded, 28x10x15 MT slicks, Cal-Track bars, fuel cell/batt in trunk, Glass fenders/bumpers (f&r) and rear valance, car is gutted no cage comes in at #3110 with a lard ass (me) inside. No passes with the 360 yet but the 304 with a bad cam was 15.03@88.4 mph no tuning as it blew up.
Also have a 70 MD Javelin 390/4sp car, has a 360 in it now may use the 390 for the drag car. The MD needs a LOT of work to get back on the road, it’s taking up room in the garage.
My 17 year old son has a 76 GremlinX 258/auto, his mom bought it new. Needs work too!

Sorry so long that’s what happens when you let a wind bag loose and his normal AMC site is down for maintenance

Migzilla
Hi guys I'm Migzilla aka Migz aka Miguel. I live in Cental Valley of Cali. I'm a PC Tech too mostly hardware. I work at a high school. I'm mostly an AMC guy I have a 75 matador With soon to have beefed up 360 and a 69 Javelin that has a 290 and a BW tranny but will eventually have a 401 with a TF. Always loved jeep prefere FSJ and the old willys pickups. As some of you have seen I'm looking for a truck. I've always loved the J-series trucks and would sell my right...arm to get one. Been on this forum for a while just don't post much. Like reading a lot though.
Mudrat
Hi Migz :t: - seen ya post a few times, glad you told us where your are
So which is your DD? the 75 matador or the 69 Jav??
PaintedRat
I go by Beardy most of the time, but a few have labeled me RadaR. I'm a PC/Network Tech in Central Cal. I'm working on a 74 CJ5 of questionable roadworthiness, that I've had a couple years. Shkool has prevented any major progress until recently. I'm repairing/upgrading as I can to keep up with rockcrawling friends in the local mountain trails. All I need is a new frame, running gear, drive train, and a few odds and ends to go with a new body, then I'm set.
I'm here to learn as much as I can about the AMC 360 I'm working on. I'm kindof a learn as you go kinda guy, so I end up asking a lot of questions that should be common knowledge. I've got the time to read forums, study how-tos, and use the almighty search, before asking my questions.
Mudrat
I think we've all been in that position at one time or other. And, welcome to the Board PaintedRat
Mudrat  !
Goose
I like the description, "All I need is a new frame , running gear tub and a few odds and ends.. Hah! you bought one of those instant CJ kits didnt you!! the one that has a radiator cap in the box and says "add parts and stir"..!!
Welcome.. :!:
Mudrat
You're SO CRUEL Goose
PaintedRat
Goose, I bought the California CJ kit. Smog exempt, legal title and vin plate, just add money. I got the special edition for extra $$$$ that came with a rebuildable 360 and tires. The sad part is I pretty much knew what I was getting when I bought it. Except for the frame. I was way too excited to notice that it looked like a pair of straightened paperclips. Really though, it is a running project. I drove it home, and have been to mild trail a few times. I'm still happy with it, except for that time the transmission fell out...
I've got a lot of the big parts to put on, now I'm rounding up smaller parts and trying to find a good supplier for spare time, I can't find any locally.
bowtieman55
alrighty...well, my name is Earl and I am from northeast NC. I'm 27 years old and to be honest, I've only (really) been into AMC (FSJs) for about a year now. I've was brought up (by my dad) to love musclecars. He's always had a thing for Chevrolets (of course), but HE LOVES to see an AMX. I bought my first Jeep ('78 Wagoneer) in Jan. '06 for $100, just because I could part it out and make money...well I ended up searching the net and finding info and websites, etc. Now I have 3 FSJs (not counting the parted out '78 ). Anyways, I'll see yall around.
edit-I would add a signature, but I can't figure out how... 111!!!
