rebel68 how big of a cam can you run without making alterations to the heads. the heads I am running are 1970 heads with the small chambers and the screw in studs all the good stuff. 3 angle grind and bronze guides. currently using a comp cam 268h but want to go to a 306/316 with .520/.542 overall valve lift. Engine is a 360 with 0.010 over 343 10.2:1 compression pistons. its in a 1968 REBEL[/img]
tufcj With that lift you'll have to check for coil bind on the springs and retainer-to-guide contact. Stock heads are very close at .500" lift. I'm running a Crower cam in my AMX with 291-C heads. Lift is .512/.525, we machined the valve spring pockets and guides a bit for clearance, also added positive type seals. Bob tufcj
rockjeep Well the efi guy finally contacted me and let me know I will need bigger injectors and get back to me on anything else I might need. I can't wait to get the full potential of this motor.
ol' school power tufcj wroteWith that lift you'll have to check for coil bind on the springs and retainer-to-guide contact. Stock heads are very close at .500" lift. Bob tufcj I've already heard of one hitting the guide at .490".
rockjeep It had injectors from a 305 and I swapped in 350 injectors yesterday and it was a very noticable improvement. Any idea what stock chevy tbi injectors are rated at? 305 and 350? Thanks, Bobby
