Does anyone know if the Bulltear AMC V8 distributor and Bulltear distributor gear need to be shimmed similar to a Chevrolet?

You really don't need a shim unless the end play on the shaft is excessive. I'd say more that .010-.015". Then you can shim just like a GM distributor.

I installed gear and it appears to have proper ammount of play.
