Welcome to Bulltear.
It will be a direct swap if both engines are 73 or newer. The 304 and 401 have the same external dimensions and use the same accessories. AMC V-8s are externally balanced using the flywheel/flexplate and harmonic balancer. For the 401, you'll need a 401 specific harmonic balancer and flywheel. The only other differences are the harmonic balancer/lower pulley on pre-73 engines have 3 bolts, later engines have 4. Pre-72 engines have a shorter water pump/pulleys and the flange on the back of the crank is different so it will be important to know what range of years both engines fall in.
There are "stickys" here with a lot of the info on casting numbers and years. Take your time and look around.

Your original post said 67. Look on the passenger valve cover. There should be a small plate with one screw. It will have 3 numbers, a letter, then 2 more numbers. This can be decoded to the month, year, and day of manufacture. Look on the side of the block under the motor mount, the displacement is cast into the side of the block. If you have the valve cover off, post the casting number, and also there MIGHT be a single or 2 digit year code on the end opposite the casting number.
You are right. Just get the right flywheel for the crank on your 401, and the rest will bolt in.

The 951 block is a 401 used from 1971-1978. The 090 heads were 360/401 from 1973 (very desirable heads). Since yours has a 3 bolt harmonic, I'd bet it's a 73. They went to 4 bolt harmonic in 74.
