There are two types of switches a 2 prong and a 3 prong. Some will get all 3 prong and some will get a 2 prong and a 3 prong. They all wire the same. The two prong switches are always open so if the switch is triggered it closes the circuit. The 3 prong switches add the ability to stay always closed or always open until the switch is activated. This allows the Mag-Lok plate to stay on a (3 prong) always closed switch and the limit switch for the Z axis (2 prong) always open to be wired together to the same limit on the card in the control box.

Wiring #1 and #2 is the same on both a 2 and 3 prong switch (always open). Wiring #1 and #3 is always closed on a 3 prong switch.
To get your lower Z limit wired up right you need to wire #1 and #2 on the Z switch and bolt it to the side of the lower Z axis plate as follows. Make sure that when the Z axis travel down it contacts the limit switch before bottoming out on the lower plate.

To get your Mag-Lok magnetic torch holder plate limit wired up correctly you can wire it like this or anywhere on top or on the side of the plate with the magnets. Make sure you use prongs #1 and #3 and that the torch mount plate contact the trigger of the switch but doesnt hit the body of the switch. Here is one way to wire the switch.

Now you can wire one lead from the Lower Z limit switch to one lead of the Mag-Lok switch together. Then wire the other side together to form 2 pairs. These will be wired inside the control box to the X axis home terminals via 2 spade connectors. The Z HOME is the switch wired from the factory that will go to the Z home.
Here is how the inside of your control box will look. In the middle is the card with the Limit and Home switches. Use X axis home for the limits on the Z axis Mag-Lok torch breakaway. The top switch is a 3 prong switch use the two outer prongs not the middle one and we like to use a limit switch on the Z axis so you cannot overtravel in the downward travel. The Z axis home switch near the Z axis nut will wire to the Z Home on the card. Test in Diagnostics (In Mach 3) before going any further. Z home should come on only when the Z axis is pulled up. If it is on normally in diagnostics you need to change the active low in ports and pins. Here is how the Mag-Lok and limit will be joined and then wired to X from the picture above. We use X home limit for these because to use the std LIMIT prongs requires a second parallel port card. To make this simple we use X home for our limits and setup our software to use X- as port 1 pin 11 and LIMIT to port 1 pin 11 and we turn X home off.
