I have a Bulltear dipstick and tube that I am trying to install into the block. I can work it with my hands, twisting it and pushing it down and I can get it past the bend, about an inch or so then it stops. I don't think I am hitting the windage tray because when I put the dipstick in the tube as it sits, it goes all the way down and seats on the top of the dipstick tube as it should.
I currently have it in the freezer to try again tomorrow. I'll coat it with light oil to see if that helps. I was also going to use an open end wrench and tap-tap-tap to try to get it to seat.
I've looked in the hole and it is clear. The motor came back form a fresh rebuild so I know it's clean.
What is the trick to getting this down in the hole and getting it to seat?

Freezer wont do anything for you and yes that means its hitting the factory baffle. You may need a slight twist and use a 5/16 open wrench over the largest tang on the dipstick and tap on the neck of the wrench. Hardest installs are when the motor is in.

I put it in the freezer and it slid right in, I gave it a couple twists and it went right down to around an inch of seating. I made sure it was lined up where it should be, put the wrench on it and 3 taps later, it was seated in the block just like it wanted to be there. Dipstick slides in easy and seats down on the tube.
Another little victory for me! Thanks.......
