I'm replacing the torque arm bushings and transmission mount on my j-20 with new poly ones. My problem is that the raised part of the torque arm bushings prevent them from clamping tight to the torque arm. There is about 1/8" of space between the bushings and the arm. Is this the way it's supposed to fit? If not, what is the fix for this? Shop book isn't much help. Previous owner used a long 1/2" bolt and a bunch of flat washers.
Thanks, Dale

There is supposed to be some movement. It's there to stop the engine/trans from twisting under torque, not hold it in place. If it's tight, vibrations from the driveline will transmit thru the frame into the cab. Sounds like it's put together right to me.

Thanks for the reply Bob. I kind of figured that with the poly bushings there would have to be some room for movement, but I wanted to double check.
Thanks again, Dale
