rollbar I have a statement/question. When I pulled the distributor I looked down in the cavity and of course I seen the oil pump where the screwdriver goes/tool to prime. Does this area (cover housing) fill up w/oil? If so, how much? When I re-installed the dizzy the paper gasket was on the bottom of the dizzy and I was going to put grease there but didn't. msalaba What dizzy are you useing? The Motorcraft dizzy uses the distributor housing as a ground for the Duraspark system. Sometimes the paper gasket can interrupt this ground. A suggested mod is adding a dedicated ground wire. As far as the oil, yes there is some oil there. There is a weep hole on the cam gear that weeps oil for teh cam chain and dizzy gearset. It's not a lot of oil and not under pressure.
