We Lost One of Our Own This Week

Sgt. Joshua D. Desforges, 23, of Ludlow, Mass., died May 12 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Josh was my friend I am proud to say; he was a member of our Carloina Full Size Jeep Club and where I met him. His best friend Andrew got him into the Fulls Size Jeeps and was also serving with Josh in Afghanistan. I had alot of fun with Josh on the trails and club workdays, he will be greatly missed. Here is what Andrew's dad told us about the phone conversation with his son. "Until Andrew can talk to Josh's folks, he wanted me to pass on to their family how sorry he is, and a certainty that Josh was looking down on himself and two other Marines when last night they stepped on an IED, tripping it and causing the blasting cap to explode, but not the bomb. I'm also sure it was Josh looking out for his buddy." Josh was working on a J-20 and had big plans to finish it when he got home. The CFSJC has plans on finishing Josh's truck and help Andrew's dad finish the tow rig he was working on for Josh. RIP Josh.

A very bad situation Jim, but prayers to you and the family. I know, from personal sacrifice, that we live in the land that we do. Get the Socialists out of OUR government and let us do our jobs to protect the American people.
