The boys truck; 1999 S-10, 4x4 has an electrical issue. The battery won't stay charged.
When running, the ALT puts out 13.58 V.
When off, the batt was holding 12.9V. (I put in my Red Top out of the Jeep  )
As soon as the starter relay clicked, battery dropped to 11.5 and stayed there. When I jumped the truck with mine (the Dodge 2500), the load almost killed my engine unless RPM was over 2000
But when the Blazer sits more than a day, the battery is flat lined and not even the interior lights come on. Other than replacing the starter - any hints on where the ground may be? A comon problem somewhere maybe to get started with? Appreciate the responses.

Probably the easiest way is to pull all the fuses, put an ohm meter between the battery post and positive cable. Start plugging in fuses till you see a load. That will at least tell you which circuit is draining the battery. Trace the offending circuit from there.
Good luck, electrical gremlins can be hard to find.

Get it going and turn all the lights on including the dash/brake/tail lights and see if any of them are dimmer than they should be or just plain out. See if any of the gauges dont work either. I had similar problems and it turned out to be a wire that had rubbed through and was just barely touching the frame
