Just installed the 401 in my J10 and decided to take care of a common and nagging problem every time I tried to use a timing light. I'm sure you are all familiar with not being able to see the timing marks due to the alternator bracket obscuring the view. Also the same problem getting access to the heater hose clamp. Here is my solution. I fabricated a piece from same thickness metal (actually a tab off my a.i.r. pump bracket) marked location then sawed off the rest and welded in place.
