Since my search for v-8 poly-u mounts has been futile, I am looking for the next best thing. I never believe that all brands are created equal. Any brand/source recomendations, or ones to stay away from?
Also my Jeep exploded diagrams show a restraint built into a stock mount. Is this still common? Are these still available? I will be mounting a bored 360 with mild-mods(250-300hp) to these mounts.
Yes, I am familiar with MOR mounts, not sure that is really necessary.
How about using stock rubber mounts with a poly-u tranny mount?

New rubber mounts have the restraint built in.
I kept breaking the driver side rubber mount even with the restraint. I run a 300HP 360 with 70:1 low gearing and 37" tires. The torque is just too much.
I run the M.O.R.E. "bombproof" mounts along with urethane tranny mount and snubber (make sure the snubber is there). It transfers a little more driveline vibration thru the vehicle while at street speeds, but DEFINITELY worth the money off road.

Where were you back when no-one could find any poly motor mounts for a v-8?
By "snubber" I guess your talking about the tranny torque bar. I have a transplanted Ford t-18a with an adapter plate that is not set up for that bar. Have seen directions for a retrofit. Was debating on wether or not to deal with the fabrication.

Even on our hunting/ Ranch jeep with a 3 speed and a torque monster 304 i now run the MORE mounts, from reducing frame flex & clutch linkage issues to eliminating broken mounts and limiting the stress on the tranny mount there really is no reason to not use them now in a jeep.
I have three sets of poly mounts from the ranch jeep that broke every 2-3 years. rubber mounts has the same issue driverside every 2 or so years. #-o the cost of changing them out every couple of years would have paid for the final problem free product. My MORE mounts have been in wheeling jeep since 2001, it has a 401 and a crawl ratio of 115:1 and 35" creepy crawlers and the mounts are still in Excellent shape nothing has torn or broken and that is on a rig that is 95% trail rig on the rubicon, Fordyce, Moab etc out here in the west.
$40 for rubber mounts that have interlock but break, $100 for poly mounts that still break over time or $200 for a trouble free product that works.

Thanks for the lowdown. Cost is my only issue right now. But, the thought of replacing mounts again and again is not very appealing. May wait and see if I come up with some more funds.
