tufcj Can't see why it wouldn't, providing you do the same prep you would if you were lining a tub. I'd think the fiberglass with it's rough surface might hold better than metal. I sanded my full hardtop smooth, then painted it with "chassis black" for a flat finish. I thought it looked nice. Bob tufcj
tufcj I looked around. I very seldom had the hardtop on my CJ, so seldom that I never got a pic with the smooth finished hard top. I sold the top several years ago instead of moving it. It was pretty easy to smooth, just hit it with a DA sander and 180 grit, filled a few dings with spot putty, then finished with 320 grit. I shot primer and paint with a cheap HVLP gun from Harbor Freight. I used chassis black from SEM, available anyplace that sells automotive paint, in quarts or in rattle cans. If you have a spray gun, quarts are much cheaper. Bob tufcj
