you took the retainer off right? Just keep turning it side to side. take the cap and rotor off so the shaft can turn freely and just rotate side to side while pulling up on the shaft not the cap! You probably have a ring of burned on oil on the shaft or the gears are hanging up on each other try to turn the shaft by hand while lifting up on the rotor but dont force it too hard
