I often wonder if the market and the economy would be nearly as bad as it is without the negative media. they are wonderfully efficient at spreading the fear about the market and the average investor doesnt actually do much homework on the companies they invest in. they just hear the news and call their investor and tell him to pull out before it vaporizes. :(: :(: :(:

Interesting that you brought that up. About a week ago the media interviewed a few retailers. They spoke about how low holiday sales were. When the feds went after out crooked governor, the media focused on that story and retail sales went up. Retailers attributed it to the lack of grinding into the people's heads how bad the economy is along with the associated doom and gloom.

we are a people who are run by the media and the media knows it! :(: Most people are not smart enough to figure it out that they are being manipulated by the media and that the information you see on tv is owned by the media and can be edited to change its meaning to suit the media.

People today watch the news and think it's gospel. I was at a Warren Zevon concert many years ago (met him in person afterward), and he commented that the media only covers 3 events per day. He pointed out a fairly significant event happening overseas, it didn't pop up in the U.S. news until over a week later, when it was pretty much over.

Without getting political, look at the presidential campaign. I believe the outcome was COMPLETELY media driven. All the way from the primaries on. IMO, there were better candidates on both sides of the fence, but they were completely ignored by the media, so they were out before they started. Ron Paul was my choice, but largely ignored by the media.

Don't know about Warren Zevon, but your right on about the press and politics. The press is pushing the NWO and will be unpleasently surprised when THEY are taken over and can only print what they are told they can print. Think PRAVDA ("The Truth" or depending on sentance usage, "The Fact" in Russian) was the "State Paper" and was only allowed to print what the censors said they could.
