I've read somewhere that stated the one could use a TF 727 flexplate in place of a t400 flexplate on an AMC motor. All you had to do was re-drill the flexplate to accept the bolt pattern of the t400 converter. Is this true? Are there any other issues that I need to be aware of? My reasoning for this is the availability and costs associated with the t400 flexplate vs the tf727. (Especially when it comes to an SFI certified one!) Thanks!

You sure can you would need to remove the weight on the SFI plate (I cant imagine why the heck they would have a weight on a SFI plate in the first place), redrill for the TH400 pattern and rebalance to 0.
