We need approximately 60 guys ready to spend $860 on forged stroker cranks. These cranks will be made out of 4340 and will be machined to street specs. We can have these cranks ready to rock by the middle of next summer but it is going to take that many guys willing to put something down to make it happen. I know we have had other tries on this but lets forge ahead with this. We are looking at CHEVY rod bearing sizes. Why Chevy? Because Chevy has the next best rod and definately the best bearings available. The strokes we are looking at are
3.68
3.75
3.9
4.00
We can make these from a single forging tool. The tooling is extremely expensive.

I wish I was rich and had more money than I knew what to do with. I would make the investment.
$860.00 X 60 = $51,600.00

Yup! Tooling is around $80K

U need the whole $860 up front, or just a smaller deposit?
Put me in for one.

Yes.....work out how this would be handled and post the specifics and I will commit for one.
wish I could swing the whole $ amount....I will buy a lottery ticket tonight and if I get the powerball jackpot this weekend I will put up the whole deposit.
:)
The only thing that would be nice is if there was a 4.15 stroke offering as well.

Hey A 3.900 works for me,there are a lot of off the shelf piston and rod combos for chevy's that will go right in a std. or .020 block, deck hieght works out good, the only real hard find is an 18 degree chevy pistons with proprietary valve notches so you don't have to notch your own or order custom made pistons, anybody got a line on a piston manf. who will do some amc guys some good forged pistons at a reasonable price ?,they are not that far off the 400 small block offerings they already have programs for, anyway I'd go for the 3.900,Dan.
jeep_man_401
Hey still waiting the word for the pistons on the ground stroker cranks last year...did you get the rods machined to fit them yet? Would like to pick them up sometime if they are done.

I have your crank here and rods but also have been charging you storage....1 beer a month...that makes a 12 pack. Give the shop a ring when you get a chance 651-257-7917

Is that the going price for storage? I have some stuff to drop off. :?: :?: :?: :?:

I may be interested, let me know when this gets closer.

We are trying to inch this closer and if we get enough interest we will do it right this I can guarantee!
There is alot of speculation and ideas floating around about strokes. Here is what we talk about offering
3.75" stroke 2.100 rod
3.90" stroke 2.100 rod
4.00" stroke 2.100 rod
401 5-speed
Put me on the list-I need at least one
amccar
I am interested in crank. Let me know.
