7" Headlight Recommendations

Does anybody have any recommendations for a 7" round headlight H-4 conversion for a CJ? I see tons of what looks like crap on ebay, but I am looking for quality. Any suggestions?

I've used both Bosch and IPF H4 conversion sets on my CJ, XJ and MJ. They're both quite good with the IPF being a bit better of the two. Bulbs are a different matter. I've tried many like the Sylvania ones, generic crappy ones, etc. The bulbs that came with the Bosch kit were quite good, nice yellow light but not oncoming traffic killers. The best bulb I've ever found are Eaglite HC's. They're a bit more blue and work similar to HID bulbs and they're dirt cheap. You need to aim them properly but the light they give off is great. The work quite well off road too, even at 55/65 watts. I've never needed anything more than that.

I have Hella Vision Plus headlights in my Jeep and AMX. Love them. Be sure to get the DOT versions, the euro versions are hard to aim correctly. They run around $40 each, but I think they're worth the money. Bob tufcj

Maybe a dumb question on my part but are these 7" lights a direct replacement for an H6024 sealed beam?

The Hella's are. Pull out the sealed beam, drop in the new unit with a replaceable H4 bulb. Plugs into the same 3 prong connector. No experience with the others. Bob tufcj

Pretty good deal on eBay, if these are DOT. The Euro spec are a little cheaper.

Bosch and IPF are yes, just like the Hellas. You get a nice housing which looks similar to a sealed beam but has a replaceable bulb in it. The bulbs have the same pins/blades on them as your stock sealed beams so you just plug them right in. I really liked the IPF's, the glass on them is quite thick. They take a pounding when rocks fly at them on logging roads.

Not that I don't want a good quality light, but I don't think the amx will be going down any logging roads or dirt roads anytme soon :mrgreen:

I do recommend the "E" code head lamps with the 90/130 bulbs TOO!!!, ricers take note in a hurry!!!! :lo1l:

A buddy of mine used harley lights in his cj for less than the light i had purchased from 4wd

I run the round eyes. My buddy runs the Delta. Both do extremely well.

i run the deltas they have the replaceable bulbs. So once you burn out a set you can try the different bulbs. I have had this set for probably 4 years and have been very happy.
