Ok, I'm being lazy again!
Anybody remember how the Heater Fan Switch knob attached on a 79 CJ7? Before I begin reefing on it I would love to know if it just presses on or if it's threaded.

Mine's threaded. The threads tend to wear down (it's 30 years old now) but a little teflon tape and you're set.

The fan knob on both my 76 CJ5 and 80 CJ7 are a slide on with spring metal lock. To remove them I use a screwdriver blade to depress the lock tab behind the knob and pull it off...
BTW: Collins Bros Jeeps has replacements that are spot on...
