I have two T5's in the shop. One has the ball and socket type shift fork and assembly in the shift box and the other has a slot and shaft style assembly in the shift box. The reason I ask this is that I believe the jeep is a 1980 which was the first year of the T5 and the shifter tabs snapped in shift box. The pin that moves and rotates for shifting has threads on it and if I am not mistaken the later T5's have a pin hole in the shift pin not threads. Anyone else run across this?

ever get an answer? I have a T5 from an '83 J10 for parts.

Never heard of a T-5 that early. Is this a CJ, or a 258'd FSJ?
