I am rebuilding a 401 and noticed that the Rod bearings that I using Clevite 77 CB 819 P are different than the bearings that I have used in the past of the same Manufactuer. There is no provision for the oil squiter hole on the 2 halfes. Has anyone else noticed this. How important is that portion. Has the other manufactuer's removed that from there bearings also? :-|

I have a brand new never installed set of Clevites .020 over that I added the squirter holes to. My engine builder told me they weren't needed, so at his recommendation I just put them on the shelf and used a set without squirter holes.
I'd sell them if you end up deciding to go with the holes.
