has anyone done this on there 401 I have mine .30 over stock cam edelbrock performer intake and msd kit.
I went to gotpropane.com and looked at there 4barrel kit and this is what they had to say propane has an octane rateing of 100 to 110
Our 4 barrel kits will fit any engine with a square bore intake pattern. This would be most any aftermarket intake manifold for Ford, Chevy, AMC, Dodge, etc..Same pattern as an Edelbrock or Holley carb. This is the kit recommended for all V6 and V8 engines. These can handle stock V6/V8 motors all the way up to a continuous 420hp.
These kits are designed for low to high range operation (6000 R.P.M.). These kits run strong, and in most cases the engine makes more power because of the inefficiency of the old carb. This kit bolts on in about 3 hours for an average mechanic. Look for this kit to make a dramatic difference on your vehicle. Because of the high octane you can advance the timing a lot more. This is the best setup available.
It works perfectly on stock and moderately modified motors as well.
Price:$1,050 which includes a new throttle plate assembly. This bolts on in place of your existing carburetor. This price includes everything you'll need to do it right the first time. This kit has been upgraded internally from rubber to silicone parts, at least doubling the service life! As well as brand new throttle plates. Note: does not include a tank.

I have the gotpropane kit on my 360. I love it. I have zero fueling issues, unlike my old carb. The owner, Cary will bend over backwards to help you out.

i couldnt carry enough propane for the weekend. :lo1l:
30 gallons regular unleaded gas is an average rubithon. the propane kits from him work awesome that said my 401 evaporates a propane too quickly :t: and space is limited in the bed of my jeep so tank has to stay under the tub
