On my 1983 Jeep wagoneer the front driveshaft appears to be missing something at the double u joint end. Is there a ball in there? My driveshaft has nothing but some ragged edges, will it hurt it to use it for now? :idea:

In the double-cardan joint, there should be a ball/socket between the u-joints, as well as a grease fitting to keep it lubed. If it's gone, it won't rotate smoothly anyway.
It won't hurt until it self destructs. I've seen broken front shafts break trannnies and t-cases. :shock: That's when you'll wish you spent the few dollars on driveshaft repair.
