Man, I thought only we had that problem up here in Canada. Oddly enough, I retire from the military in 2 years, and although I'll be getting a pension, when you leave the military here you aren't eligible for social assistance, even though you pay into it for your entire career. The only way you could do it is if you were released dishonourably from the army, then you could claim unemployment. It's disheartening to see when the government seems to be throwing money at immigrants, the terminally lazy, and tree huggers.
Obama sure seems to be a good salesman though. I'm just curious what the old boy's club is thinking these days, since the Dem ticket is getting either a woman or a black guy this year. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the cigar and brandy room.
