I pulled my transmission tonight, fully expecting it to be a TF999. I've been told by the builder that it's a 999. BUT, on the top of the tranny (bellhousing?), it looks the the factory has a little bead of weld on it that says 904-2. What in the world is that? FYI, it's behind a 360.
Any ideas? And how do you definitively ID a 904 versus 999?

On the passenger, I think, rear side corner of the case are there 2 re-informent ribs above the circular servo cavity that run up the side of the main case ? 998/999's have the ribs, 904's do not.
