I have a '75 CJ5 with a 304. I'd like to change the dizzy out, but as most readers, I have very little money to play with. I'm not a hard core trail hound, but I want to upgrade to a more reliable system. I've read both pros and cons about the HEI setups using a Ford 460 and GM and need to know the least expensive and easiest way to do it. Hope I'm not too 111!!!

You can run the larger cap and hotter coil from a Ford 460 this is called the TFI swap. The HEI is a hotter spark and larger cap unit but it eliminates the ignition control module, stock coil and excess wiring form the engine bay. In fact if you dont have a electronic choke or AC you would have 5 wires plus you plug wires when you go to an HEI.
