Would anyone be interested in a quick dismount tach mount? It can be made to fit a tube mount, flat surface mount, basically any mounting type you want. What we were thinking was 1 tach for use in multiple vehicles, remove tach for security purposes, stock look at car shows, cleaning of your off-road rig or dirt track car, and only having to buy 1 good tach & be able to use it in multiple vehicles. A friend of mine already has a flat surface mount setup built, he's thinking in the neiborhood of $18-$25.

Pics or concept DWG??? I need to remount my tach - it vibrates on the mount I made (no stiffening).

Neat idea though.

Sorry Pat no pics. All I can tell you is that it is made of plastic with a quick release lever built in.

Sounds interesting- currious how the quick release holds, what kind of tach?

I believe he has it setup for either a 5" autometer, or a smaller sun-tach. The quick release is a piece of plastic kinda like a lever mounted to the base with a screw on one side so it is allowed to be turned to the side for easy removal of the tach.
