Great 'wheelers. If I had to do it again, I'd start with a CJ8 instead of a CJ7. The longer wheelbase makes them a better 4-wheeler and gives them a better ride than the CJ7. Bob the tail to get rid of the overhang, and approach and departure angle is the same as a CJ7.
There were only about 28,000 made from 1981-1986, none were factory V-8, mostly I-6 with a few 4 cyls. Since they had the same rust problems as the CJs, it's VERY difficult to find one in good shape.
