I swaped a 360 in the jeep and don't really know year of the engine. It came out of a Wagoneer or grand cherokee not sure wich one. I need a head gasket and noticed on the gaket package that the on I ordered is for a AMC V8 360 and 401 for 1967-1978. I was wondering what is the difference in a 1979 model? I may need to find out what year this is before I install this head gasket.

Gasket kits for 360 and 401 are the same 1970-1991, year and displacement don't matter. It could be that 78 was the last year for the 401. 290/304 kits have smaller bore holes in the heads gaskets.
