You can get a set of pistons...any size...any compression with all the options Diamond offers at a seriously low price. How low depends on options but from $450 on up for a set of customs. I will give everyone until 10-10-07 to decide if they want in. After that this group buy is CLOSED. If you arent experienced and need compression, compression height, ring land, ring size, bore size, pin size or custom options post up and I will get you straitened out. Everyone will get a job# assigned to them for the group buy. EVERYONE MUST PREPAY BEFORE 10-15-07 FOR THE PISTONS AND THEN FOR SHIPPING TO YOU FROM EITHER DIAMOND OR BULLTEAR WHEN THEY ARE DONE. Hey ya Rob! Yes after talking with you I remember you needed SR heads digitized. I will make the call tomorrow and let you know. Can you please list your bore size and stroke along with your rod length and wrist pin size? I think you were running 3.85 stroke and a .927 pin in a .030 over 401...right?

Hey I want in also...I also have the Indy heads. (dog leg port) I would want 12.5 to 1 comp I think. .030 overs. This is for the stroked crank. Would be interested in their dry film lube on the skirts and the coating the tops of the pistons. Going to run a high lift roller with these. What else do you need for info?

You deck height...unless you dont know and it has been shaved we will go about .010 under deck so you can have it cleaned up to .000

The first set would be to fix the engine that I tore up at Cordova. dome piston design HD piston material 4.185" bore x 3.68" stroke std steel 401 rod length and pin size std deck height less .010 for cleanup 1/16-1/16-3/16 low tension ring package 13.5 -1 compression ratio HD pin with double spirolox retension pin fitting and oiling operations done Indy Sr heads w/61cc chambers with std SR valve size, spacing and angle ROL race head gasket .045 compressed thickness x 4.280 bore size pistons machined for up to .750 valve lift The second set will be Dome design HD material 4.250 bore x 3.9 stroke 6" grp aluminum rods sbc pin size (.927 going from memory) std deck height less .010 cleanup (9.208 less .010= 9.198) going from memory 1/16-1/16-3/16 low tension ring package 14.5-1 compression ratio HD pins with double spirolox retension, fitted and oiling operations done Indy SR heads with 61cc chambers and std SR valve size, spacing and angle pistons machined for up to .750 valve lift Copper head gasket .050 thick and 4.250 bore diamter That should be a good start on the specs for these. Of course if they don't have the SR chamber plot then ????? Rob

That is GREAT news that they have all those heads digitized !! They must be really wanting some AMC business !!! That is going to really save a lot of time and hassle trying to get the domes profiled to fit the combustion chambers.

I suggest that everybody that is going to need a custom set of pistons get off their horse and pony up on this. At 34% off this could save serious money.

Let me know how to go about estimating a cost.

Sounds good. I will give them a call and talk to them. After I get a quote from them with all the optional machining, profiling, etc. I assume that they would quote me the retail price.

So to calculate my cost on these I would take off the 34% off the quote ?

Yeh, but rebuild time is a few years out...so start collecting parts now I say! If I can start winning some pulls after I get the drivetrain up to snuff, I figure at $200 for 1st place I should be in the green in, say around 40 to 50 years. :mrgreen: Besides, the financial situation has improved since the girlfriend kicked me and my son out... HA HA :roll: Funny, how much money a person with 5 kids, drinking, gambling and drug habits will suck out of you! #-o The bad part is I built the 24X38 garage at her house instead of mine. :smile: #-o :smile:
