Lifted79CJ7 I didn't realize these were out, but it looks like the anty as been upped - went to the 4WP Wholesalers show today here in Atlanta: http://www.4wheelparts.com/ADT8.aspx And they had these bad boys there: That's a 44 sitting next to it....
jeepsr4ever I believe those are 54's....definately a large tire. Would take a rockwell to utilize them,
Lifted79CJ7 Could have sworn the sticker on her said 59" X 19.5R20, but I could be wrong.... whatever they were, they were freakin HUGE!!!
76-cj7 54's are weak.....no tread at all....Go 49 IROK or 44 Bogger.....best tire for the money IMHO.......Know this from experience!
Mudrat DAMN DUDE!!!! :t: Why don't you crawl in the back of the truck and fix the tile in the ceiling
76-cj7 Anyone ever get bored and just for curiosity measure the axle diameter of a corporate 14 GM full-float and compare it to a 2 1/2 ton rockwell rear axle??? its only .001 bigger!!! WTF?!?!?
tufcj Because the Rockwell is a portal axle, gear reduction is done at the end of the axle (2.75:1). The load on that upper (inside) axle shaft is reduced by about 2.75 times over a 14 bolt. Bob tufcj
dan58 tfcj, I think you are thining of a Mog. A rockwell is a toploader design, but they don't have a portal box. My SF35-spline D60 has nearly the same diameter of a rockwell shaft. Rockwells can be upgraded with the Ouverson Engineering 47-spline chromo shafts, which are 2" and $2K for fronts. Big tires - 54 bogger, 49 Irok, 47 TSL LTB, 46 Claw, 44 Bogger and TSL.
tufcj Guess I shouldn't post in the morning (particularly Monday) until the cobwebs from the night before have cleared.  Some of the Rockwells did have planetaries out on the end, but they're not portals, My bad. Bob tufcj
