Throttle cable?

Is there anyone who makes a replacement throttle cable for a 69' amx that is between 1/2"-1" longer than stock.

Tried that route with mine too. I was about to cut/weld the bracket to the right length when I found this adapter:

Works really nice on my Edelbrock 750 on R4B manifold.

Not to sound stupid (too late for me!) but where exactly does this Edelbrock adaptor go? What I mean is, where do you install it? Thanks!

I have already tried cutting the cable bracket. My problem is I am using a holley 4150 series 800dp carb and I am still not getting full throttle. With the cable in the forward position on the carb the car idles at 2500.Now with the cable in the rear position it idles fine, but I can't seem to get full throttle.

The only other thing I can think of right now would be maybe the jeg's universal, adjustable cable bracket would cure my woes?

Not to "dispute", but the stock accel cable worked ok on my '69 AMX. Holley 0-4781 850cfm DP, Torker, 1" spacer, stock accel cable brkt. I did have to remove the "lint matt" from under the carpet under the pedal.

The big hole on the adapter is attached to the carb linkage with a bolt/nylock nut. The ball stud goes in one of the smaller holes and the cable snaps onto it. I actually got a Holley stud kit (P/N 20-2) at my local Advance Auto. It works fine on my car with R4b and Edelbrock 1407 (750) carb. I can get full throttle with no problem. Bob tufcj

I'd imagine it would work if the Holley has a 1/4" hole in the bracket, and one side of the bracket is smooth. I had a Holley 600 (1406 list) on my Jeep with a Torker and a Performer manifold. The cable reached with just a little tweak of the bracket. Bob tufcj

Maybe I will try that bracket. I tried tweaking the bracket (did not work)before I moved the cable to the rear hole on the carb linkage.
