dan58 I'm looking for something rather odd, and Art Carr doesn't make it. I want a reverse manual valve body, WITH compression braking. AC makes a reverse manual VB. They also make a manual VB with compression braking. BUT, they don't make what I want. Any other suggestions? Will a VB from the 904 or 727 be the same?
dan58 jeepsr4ever wroteI thought dedenbear made one like that Is that the same company that made all the knuckles, etc? Or is this a different company? The manual one I have no is a brand called Cheetah. I think the PO bought it through Summit.
HRST390 all vb's are the same on the non lock-up 3 speed t.f.'s...call A+A or CRT transmissions...a+a is in Indy...
dan58 MVBs tell the transmission what gear to be in at all times. It will not shift. You can select 2nd gear, and it stay in second, no matter what.
dan58 No. If you put the selector in 2nd while parked, it starts in 1st. It then can shift (if needed) to 2nd. MVBs make it start from a dead stop in 2nd and cannot up or downshift.
rollbar OH, so I guess U would need this for what then...........if U were geared real low etc & starting out on the street. Just trying to understand.
dan58 They're not used on the street. The box is very explicit that they're not a DOT product. Picture 45 degree climb. Loose stuff. 1st gear is too slow. You want 2nd. A normal tranny has to shift from first to second. I want second. I ratchet to 2nd and have it from the get to.
rollbar I got it, thanks. I've been a stick man most of my life, for Jeeps that is. I was just wondering if I needed it for the CJ8/TF-999. Thanks,
