BREK Next thursday and I'm curious what I should be expecting. Here are my engine specs. 69' 390 .040 je forged pistons, comp 292h, 291c heads mildly ported, somewhere between 9-9.5 c/r, torker (ceramic coated), ceramic coated hooke s/c headers, stock crank & rods, internally balanced, milodon single pickup kit, bulltear nickelplated timing cover with hrc gears, flokooler water pump, hayes billet flywheel 35lb, deburred & polished valley area with bypass line, probably more but thats about all I can remember right now. edit I almost forgot harland sharp 1.6 rockers
AMX69PHATTY What carb ? If Edelbrock or Holley 650, guess 415 HP motor If Holley 850 cfm DP, guess 465 HP motor
BREK I have 2 carbs to try 1) holley 800 dp mechanical secondary 2) holley 750 dual feed single pump vaccum secondary
AMX69PHATTY Ok, I'll guess 435 HP @ 6100 rpm @ Flexplate with the 800 DP and a 1" 4-Hole Spacer and 37 deg total Advance @ 3000 and the valves adjusted properly of course :roll:
BREK Well after a few mishaps the numbers are in. Best pull was with my 800dp with 69-74 jets, 110 gas, 36 degrees total timing, and a 1" open spacer. It made 450hp @ 5800 & 440 tork @ 4900

BREK Yes the 4 hole spacer was tried on pump gas and 110. We lost about 5hp and about the same tork. I am very happy with the numbers, although I would have liked to see 460-475 but hey 450 is pretty darn good for a pump gas motor.
