Henry Lavrenz wroteThanks Jeff, I was hopeing to hear from you - not to say nobody else can help with advice. I think I will look into the Isky cutter. I used a Isky valve cutter about 25 yrs ago and it was a great tool, that was when they rented them for $10.00. Where did you get the ring wire? and are you running one or two rings on each cyl.? Hank,
The wire would come with the kit on a new one, if it's used probably you would have to sorce it, maybe Indy still sells it or maybe a place like MSC. The wire diameter I believe is .040 thick. and the depth of the groove is .035-.037 deep.
One groove is all you can get on a AMC. Between the bolt holes and water jacket ports, and the firering diameter of the gasket it's pretty tight.
