blowin head gaskets with turbo 401

What is the best, toughest, most dependable head gasket for a .030" over 401 with Indy SR heads? This time I will run the extra bolt. I have blowin three head gaskets, Rt., Lt, & Lt. sides. I'm running up to 10 lbs boost, timeing is down far enough to prevent Knock. I think the Felpro gaskets are just not ment for this app. Any help is welcome, Hankrod

Hank, I run Felpro's with o ringed block, ain't that hard to do takes about 1/2 hour, just get a Isky cutter and follow the directions. Jeff

Thanks Jeff, I was hopeing to hear from you - not to say nobody else can help with advice. I think I will look into the Isky cutter. I used a Isky valve cutter about 25 yrs ago and it was a great tool, that was when they rented them for $10.00. Where did you get the ring wire? and are you running one or two rings on each cyl.? Hankrod

The wire would come with the kit on a new one, if it's used probably you would have to sorce it, maybe Indy still sells it or maybe a place like MSC. The wire diameter I believe is .040 thick. and the depth of the groove is .035-.037 deep.
One groove is all you can get on a AMC. Between the bolt holes and water jacket ports, and the firering diameter of the gasket it's pretty tight.

I used the Milodon double outlet, the pan has both single or no outlets.
Yep it'll fit a CJ.
