Ok so here is a rough turning of a 4" stroke on a AMC 401 crank. Oil hole hardly moved at all.

Here is the backside of the journal

One of the cranks needed the thrust area welded up so they did that as well.

Here is a roughed stroker crank next to a finished nitrided stock stroke

Crankshaft supply co. fixes and grinds alot of crank shafts..

They also fix huge diesel block..these blocks get around $25,000.00 worth of repairs.

And they have plenty of spare main caps as well :idea: :shock:

We arent sure what the final charge will be but will be asking for crank monies as soon as they are finished.

Just a quick question...I was helping a guy the other day repairing some equipment at my job. We got to talking and he said he would want to make sure that the freezing of the cranks doesn't distort them any. As he put it, if you rearrange the mocules in something (as freezing would appernetly do) it would change the shape somewhat. Would it be a good idea to do the final grinding or polishing after the freezing of them? Just a thought... :-| P.S. I bet I know which crank got welded! 8)

Yes they do bend however crankshaft supply straitens the cranks. Bent cranks are very common and so is straitening. Cryogenic freezing drops the temp one degree per minute and brings it back up very slowly so any bending is very minimum.
