AMC Disributors used thru the Years ?

May I ask if anyone knows what all Distributors AMC used thru the years ? I'm aware they used Delco from from '68 to '73 I think. Then didn't the go to Motocraft with the spring clip cap, '74-'79 ? Then did they go to the Presto-Lite units '80-'91 ? Were the posts on the caps always the standard socket type ? AMC motors were used in Jeeps until what 1991 ? Was the coil location and spark plug wire routing always the same ? :-|

Prestolite's from the early 70's till the early 80's
Motorcraft's from the Early/late 80's till the end

I know they used the delco's in the 70's as well. AFAIK they were always the socket style cap with the V8 coil mounting and spark plug routing being the same.

DC Stopped using the AMC V8 (360) in 1991 with the end of the wagoneer line (FSJ version not the XJ Version)

I believe they went to motorcraft in 78 for the CJ's at least thats what i can tell from the books.prestolite were 76-77 on the CJ's also. not entirely sure though. :-|

Thats correct...as well as J-trucks and FSJs.
