Hey guys,
I picked up a 360 a couple weeks back and it's on a stand in the garage. Now, I know little about this engine except that it has around 80,000 miles on it. It also looks like someone has replaced the timing cover at some point.
My question is, Is there a way to check oil pressure while the engine is on the stand???
Also, where the heck is the oil pressure deal on the block??? The one on my 258 is on the passenger side of the block.
Thanks

You could use a priming tool and a mechanical guage. I would say if it hits 50-60psi you may be good to go.

OK,
but where is the oil pressure bung on the block. I haven't been able to locate it. Haven't looked too hard either.

Its on the passenger side near the front (down by the oil pan)..probly has a 90 degree fitting and a large shaped bell type one wire sending unit...or a simple 2 wire plug.

right next to the oil filter adapter threaded into the block.
