Fuel Line-Routing

I have some J-10 stock exhaust manifolds I want to run if they fit (do they), & if they do not I will run fender-well headers.

Look @ the new SS fuel line & where it's mounted.

If I can run the stock manifolds can I leave the line there?
If I run fender-well headers can I just move it to the lower inside of the frame?
How did U run your fuel line w/the V8's?
How did U run the rubber hose fuel line w/the V8's

Looking good there JIm!!! =D> My fuel line comes up the right side (former I-6 remember?) to the fuel filter, then I routed a steel line under the radiator and over in front of the headers under the PS pump. I clocked the fuel pump so I could enter from about 7 o'clock (looking down from the Drivers fender) then a steel line up behind the PS pump and along the intake/valve cover to the rear of the engine and up to the carb (Holley).

OK I follow U, got a pic? So Pat, if I run stock or fender-well headers the line where it's @ will be ok from the heat. Jim

Jim, I ran mine like Mudrat did....stock I6 location, extended the line to the front of the engine compartment and under the radiator, then over. Im running stock J10 manifolds and havent had any problems whatsoever.

Nope - no pics of this, but I think you know where the line comes up where you are, filter, under the RAD, turn back at the steering gear, then into the pump.

In your pic, I think the line comes to far forward on the P-side and will be real close to #1&3 tubes. My headers are IN-frame and my fuel line is on the far outside of the frame.
What fuel pump are you using? Electric or the engine driven??

Electric:
I would cut the line back under the body and run a rubber line up the firewall past the fan motor and cowl drain, then come into the carb from the right side to miss the header as it exits OVER THE TOP of your fuel line :shock:

Stock Mechanical:
Ummm ... need to figure something out - maybe cross the line around the bell housing and run it up with the brake line?? In this location, using fenderwell exit (over the top of frame) headers you'll be heating the fuel as it flows just inches by the headers.

Almost a recipe for vapor lock??? :-|

you have to run your fule line around the front to the shock mount under the header should not be a problem mine does it

then made a alum block to go from the line to the pump with a hose

so you know you are missing a bolt in the frame mount should be 4

Fuzz as I said before, I admire your engineering and your build, but your fuel line is on the left - Jim's is coming up the right rail :idea:

And I've got all 6 in both my motor mounts :wink:

but mine runs the top of the frame from the back up to the motor under the wheel well headers I only have 4 bolts in mine

Geez Fuzz what are you trying to do preheat your gas? Get a tube over that line :idea:

Thanks Pat & Fuzz for the tips/bolt missing. I'll look @ it some more & see which way to go. I like the bell housing idea. I bought the SS fuel & brake line from in-line tube as a stock I-6 setup even though I was running the 360. I have stock J-10 exhaust mannys but I really like the fender-well headers also, I like how they leave room under the Jeep for extras. Thanks again, Jim

Pat, I would like to run Mechanical so I don't have to worry about the electric pump in water etc. U seen the post w/the carb I'm gonna run for now, is there a recomended fuel pump for me to get from AZone or MC?

I left my fuel line in its stock location on the inside of the framerail. Its been this way for 7 months now and i havent experienced vapor lock yet, but i'll keep an eye on it as im sure its gotta be picking up heat from the manifold.

i left my lines in the stock location and thentook soft rubber lines and ran it up over the timing cover between the dizzy and the engine itself. seems to be workin pretty good for now

With the EFI and pump in the tank, I ran the feed and return lines up the firewall to the back of the manifold. I know that doesn't really apply here. I think keeping the line on the pass side is best, it's away from the exhaust heat (at least if you're running a single exhaust). The 2 v-8 conversions I did, I extended a steel line forward and across the front frame rail. I use as little rubber hose as possible, just less to deteriorate and fail. Bob tufcj

Thats the same one I have ... compare prices, I didn't pay that much from Summit ....

OK, I sent for a Summit cat @ X-mas time & got my Jegs but not the Summit cat. I'll try again. I founr the M6902-4 but didn't C the 6, I'll look again. Thanks, Rollbar
