mika01 Looking for a rear disc brake set-up from either a Ford 9" or an 8.8. Need everything, backing plates, mounting brackets, calipers & discs. I guess I could start with the backing plates. Anybody know where I can get some? I could always buy the rest at the autoparts. Thanks
Soylent_Green I'd start looking in the boneyards, calipers and rotors might be gone off of anything, but you might luck out and find some backing plates. Where abouts are you?
mika01 I'm in MA. Nice avatar. I'll have to scour a local you pull. Youre right maybe I can get lucky.
Phil Try searching stores and websites that are set up for the roundy round dirt track guys. If memeory serves The setup I bought for a 9 inch I had in a Jeep cost about $100 complete but thats been several years ago.
mika01 Dam! now that’s a good deal. You remember the website? I know nothing of circle track wouldn’t even know where to start
Phil The set up I bought came from a local race shop the catered to the roundy round guys. Un fourtunatly it is closed now. You might want to try a google search for race chassis shops or racing accesories theres a company called performance bodies that may be able to help or try racing junk.com hope this helps. BTW alot of 8.8s came with rear disks, on explorers I think
jeepsr4ever I am running the Maxima rear calipers and suziki rotos on my 9" in my Hornet. The downside is that Maxima capilers are VERY expensive :(
mika01 Thanks Paul, I will deffinatelly check that out. As for the calipers I was thinking of using Cadilac Eldorado rear calipers with e-brake, thats until I found theyre 100 a piece :-|
mika01 castro wrotei got a 8.8 disk brake rear end complete out of a 96 97 mustang $100.00 bucks Thanks I appreciate it. I found a local u-pull with a decent set of eldo calipers, rotors backing plates for $60. Appreciate the response.
