How about i just scored a good running 360 for 120 bucks. It comes complete with acessories and a edelbrock torker intake. Also the fact this motor was built by one of the hardcore engine builders in the area and that fact it would take my buddies CJ-5 and pull the front wheels about a foot off the ground :lo1l: But the valve cover has the tag still attached with the numbers.....508N19 and the heads are 3216090-1....I take it from the heads that it is a 73' but i don't know what the valve cover tag comes out to be? Any help would be appreciated. :t:

508N19 breaks down this way.
5 - Last digit of the year (could be 75 or 85, probably 1975)
08 - Month (August)
N - Matches vehicle VIN (360 2bbl)
19 - built 19 day of the month
So the valve cover is from a 2bbl 360 built August 19th, 1975 or 1985. You could tell an 85 block by 2 extra freeze plugs behind the flywheel/flexplate.
The 090 heads were only built in 72 and 73, so you have a mix of parts and dates. These heads are some of the most desirable, so hang onto them. You got a deal on the motor. I paid $150 for the last set of 090s I bought at a swap meet. Used torkers are bringing around $100.

Hey tufcj thanks for the help and as far as the extra freeze plugs, it does not have them so it must be a 75'.
