Mudrat Fellow Jeeper, I have posted an anouncement on the forums regarding this subject but I decided that it was too important of an issue not to email all of the members directly. Over the past year or so there have been several cases of people scamming users on JU. The one person in particular has had several different accounts that we ban as quickly as possible. If a deal seems too good or too sweet then it ALMOST CERTAINLY IS. When you purchase an item insist on seeing pictures from multiple angles. I would also recommend insisting that payment only be made via a certified check or money order. In the case of one of these spammers he would only accept Paypal. I would also recommend insisting that you call the person on the phone to give the information. If you demand to pay via check or money order and give the information by phone you will at least have an address and phone number. Buying and selling on JU has been a great way for members to make some extra money or find good deals on parts. A couple of bad apples should not scare you away but it is important to use common sense at the same time. Paypaling your money to some one before you have even worked out the details just so you can get a good deal is setting yourself up to get scammed. Thank you for participating on JU and good luck with your future transactions. -Jason Wenderoth- Administrator JeepsUnlimited.com
