We are looking for AMC V8 cylinder heads for a new head program. I can offer a deep discount on finished heads for cores.

I have two sets just collecting dust in the shop. Are they really worth the cost of shipping?

What cores are you looking for??
jeepsr4ever
We are looking for bridged dogleg type headds, no single rocker heads. Don in your case from Salem to BT would be around $80 for shipping

I've got 2 pair of 5020's. Could disassemble a set and ship them to ya. Would need to be a real deep discount.

have to look in my pile of heads

Well here is what we want to do ok,
Take stock heads and mill them for guideplates and single rockers. Install new valves (either stock or stainless), new springs, retainers, guides and seals. Now this depends on our buyin with SBC valves. We want to option this with cnc exhast and intake machining and port matching to make a real good stock replacement or for more a killer street/strip head. Discounts would be based on whether or not we pay shipping to us and what the final outcome is. I am thinking we will have to get some cores in here (which we will probly do initially) and run them through the process to evaluate what we can sell them for and what a good discount would be.

Are you looking for 304 heads as well? I have 3 or 4 sets of bridged 086 (i think) castings.
If a good deal can be worked I may even have a few extra timing covers.
jeepsr4ever
Phil I cant use any timing covers but yes on the heads

I have a set of 304 086 heads and a set of 360 344 heads. What would the shipping be from 17356? So your saying they'd be returned ready to bolt on or just milled for guideplates? If they are returned ready i'll pay to ship both ways.

I am extremely pumped up about this! We are making a fixture this week to unshroud the valves, CNC flowport from the seat to as far as we can in the chamber, CNC portmatch to our gasket lineup, CNC flowport from intake to valve bowl and CNC flowport from Dogleg to valve bowl. We will also be enlarging the drainback holes and milling and retapping the stud bosses. This will be one hell of a setup but I think we can get .290CFM + consistantly out of the intake @.600. This depends on the casting # but all indications look great here!
Very exited! :sa:
What else can we do to these heads?
jeepsr4ever
I suppose we could offer the extra 4 bolt holes and a drill bushing for drilling your block. Also maybe oringing on the heads.
82Waggy
Machine for positive valve seals.
jeepsr4ever
Could do that as well..I am thinking a small .010 groove around the exhaust and intake (fuels and water ports) for a great seal. I am drawing up the fixture plates right now. Looks like it will have 7 clocking positions

I have the heads off of my 87 360 from a grand wagoneer, if I was to send them to you in exchange for a set ready to bolt on what kinda investment am I looking at?

i'll send you a set of 502's ive got in the storage unit. I'll pay shipping......... :!: i dont really need em back either.....
So whats up with not using the single stud 71-74 heads vs the later bridged heads?
Patf10
there is a yard by me that has a few 360s in it. if ya need head i could pull em, and i may not mind having a nice set o heads.
Mudrat
Have you seen these guys?
Extrude Hone. Looked at them a while back was I was thinking REALLY radically about dropping a 500 Caddie in my K20
How about THESE polished pistons?!?!?

Goose
Well Rat.. From these highly polished pistons.. we can see the photographers receding hairline and that he squints his left eye when snapping pictures , and that he needs a moostachio trim.
(Look in the valve relief on the lower left piston.. darn near optical quality polishing)
