Borg -Warner transmision help please

Hi i have got a transmision question

I bought a filter yesterday ,my supplier found one at last :wink:
But we still do not know witch trans it is

It was not fitted right because it fell out right away and the clip was bended

Now I am adjusting the frontband,it was to tithe i think,I hope I am doing this right :-|
I used a ¬º inch spacer and turned it back 1 full turn

that is a borg-warner model 12 known as a "flash-o-matic or shift-comand) is it a alum main case or cast iron main case ???? i think i have the tech manual for it still

Hi newbie how can you tell its a M12?are you sure? i think its cast iron i am lookin for adjusting techmanuel,because i have some slipage in 3 rd gear and need to adjust the bands maybe you want to sell it to me :roll: or mail me a copy? thanks willem

The BW M11 and M12 are identical externally. Both have an aluminum bellhousing and cast iron body. The M12 is tougher internally. The M12 was used behind the 390 and 401, the M11 behind the 343 and 360. One way I've been told to tell is that the M12 uses 2 bolts to hold the front servo, the M11 uses 1 bolt and a pressed in stud. Some parts on the M11 and M12 will swap with the old FMC trannies. Isn't this from an mid 60's rambler ?

I would say it's an M8 Model,

I have a M11 out of a '69 343 car

and the tag reads "W.G. DIV.AS8-11"

so it appears the last number after the dash is the Model.

Not sure in your case what "-8H" would be.

maybe Model 8 Heavy Duty ?

yes its from my 1966 rambler the slipage at 3rd gear should come from a tv/kickdown cable wich is not conected,? anyone can tell me how to adjust it ?.its hanging loose now,i think i am missing some parts there too willem
