I got a Crane cam here, after comparing it to the stock cam, I found this problem #-o :
Stock cam, two 3/16" oil relief holes in back.
Crane, two 3/8" holes, BUT one hole is not all the way through, 1/16" left to go.
I figured it was meant to be drilled all the way but figured I would call Crane. I didn't get that great of advice besides that I can drill a cast iron cam 111!!! (no shit). He obviousely didn't know AMC cams.
Should I leave it, drill it 3/16", or drill it the rest of the way 3/8" (which I believe would be right)
Also do these larger relief holes drop the oil pressure a lot? I was thinking maybe they left one hole not drilled because a single 3/8" hole flowed more than the stock 3/16" holes.
Thanks for the help.

Dont worry about it, most cam blanks now dont have 2 relief holes. It shouldnt walk with just one.

Would there be any drawbacks if I drilled the rest of it out, it would only take a matter of a second to bore the rest out.
I want to put this together without any doubt its going to last.
Thanks

By cam blanks you mean these holes were not machined by Crane, but a supplier of blanks to Crane and whoever else uses them (comp etc)?
