Well we've "officially" had over 5" of rain in the last 36 hours. I went to wash some shop towels and saw a big puddle of water under the dryer. Asked if anybody had done an oversize load of laundry "Nope". Oh SHIT!!! Went out front and looked and saw all the water running over the gutters. I haven't had a chance to clean them in the past 6-7 months (sometimes travel sucks
) Tossed the shop towels down to stem the tide, donned a swimsuit and tank top and grabbed the ladder, ok not the smartest thing to do with thunder and lightning  - but I was getting water IN the house!!
Good thing about cleaning gutters in the rain though, the gutter is rinsed as you clean it!!
If you're watching the Weather Channel, Norfolk to Richmond has been on the show for hours with flooded streets and even the local radio stations are giving traffic announcements (mid-day on a weekend??) for what roads, bridges and tunnels are closed. Some with 4 feet of water on them!! "Turn around, don't drown" HA!!! The Suffolk police are advising folks to boil water because the sewers and sewage treatment plants have flooded!!
It's too wet to even go to the shop, so I sit here with a cold scotch and catch up on e-mail ;-)
