I have seen the dimensions for the main & rod journals and is adjusted with under size bearings. I also see what the end play should be with crank in the motor but I have never seen dimensions to measure this with crank on the bench or how this is adjusted.
Lets say I had the crank turned 10/10, I don’t know of thrust dimension on crank to measure right? I start to put motor together and find end play is to big.
Did I miss a dimension in the book? What’s the fix?

Make sure the shop has the bearings and the cap so they can measure. I had to have my crank cut to 10/10 even though there was barely .001 wear because you can't easily get .001, .002 bearings now. They wanted the bearings. Unless you have a real problem with wear or the machine shop screws up, you should be fine.
Once cut, it's heck to get it fixed short of a different crank or some radical/creative means.
