distributar gear AMC 360

Well my distributar striped a gear last weekend. I put another one on it(it was used) and today it striped it. I was told by a few people that it will keep happening b/c the gear on the end of the cam must be bad and is what is eating the gear. This is with a eldebrock cam that I put in 5 years ago. I was told to come here from some guys on the FSJ boad. So what do you think?

You want to replace both the cam and distributor gear at the same time as a matched set. Bulltear sells a fine gear set that may solve the problem as long as the cam isn't "walking" forward.

How would I test to see if the cam is "walking" or not?

make sure the oiling is ok dont mix 2 differnet gears always do both
