Ok Two things about that. One) are you really all that suprised?? Two) New Orleans is not Bush's fault it was doomed long before Bush took office, but his underlings did do a poor job of doing there Job. That could have saved lives. I am not a Bush supporter, but I do support our troops. So we should pull our troops and send Bush and his Regime over to mop up the rest. And I will even be nice they can each have a .45, a moped w/side car, and a can of mace.

Noope - Of course this also say's a lot about, and pointedly illustrates the declining state of our intelligence services for political ‚Äòexpediency‚Äô I'm afraid. [from past experience, you cannot be ‚Äúpolitically correct‚Äù and still be a functional operative]
And I don't trust the Washington Post either - in fact MOST printed media had the wrong agenda IMHO.

If you get a chance pick up the book, "See no Evil" by Robert Baer. Quite an eye opener about the decline of the CIA the over-reaching power of the FBI, and he has the best answer yet on who was behind the Beirut Embassy bombing (April 1983) and the Marine Barracks bombing (Oct 1983) that killed 243 Marines, Navy and CIA (which is why Baer kept looking for answers).
Another one by Baer is "Sleeping With the Devil: How Washington Sold Our Soul for Saudi Crude". And not with just the current administration - he takes that one back all the way to Nixion.

Well at the risk of stirring up some crap.. I think we all need to take a hard look at the "Games" being played.. Bush,Clinton etc. are all in the spotlight when it comes to whats going on in the world.. the truth (As I see it) is that they have very little affect on the way things happen.. In example in a true representitive republic (which is what our government is , Not a Democracy as everyone says). the president has little power not given to him by the people's representitives (Senators Congressmen etc). So while we watch the puppets dance on TV the real power is deciding what will happen and who pays for it. As to who is really running the show.. I haven't a clue but it isn't US and it isnt really the prez either.. the only comforting thought is that the U.N. is so inept and corrupt that they arent much of a threat. I guess the point I was trying to make this is : Augustus Ceaser said it best: Give the Peasants Bread and Circuses, and the bloodier the better.. I can't imagine better circuses than all the high tech war toys and soldier/ gladiators on the evening news everyday..keeps us distracted. Kinda hard on the soldiers though.

This is the only point I disagree with Goose, the UN is the biggest freak'n threat in the world BECAUSE they are so inept !!!! Having worked for THAT organization, they are so frigged up it's unbelievable!!! They use our satelittes, our equipment, our troops, and they are out to take US over!!! Read some of the "resolutions" ...

Sorry - the UN and NATO need to go away or we just need to get the 'F' out and leave them without resources and see where the bread winner of THIS family is!!!

OH, and as for our involvment - get somebody in office that recognizes we (the US of A) are being used against our own INDEPENDANCE! Screw the UN and their frigg'n blue helmets and SCREW NATO (and I've had 2 tours of duty with them). Kick the bass-turds outta the US and let THEM sort out the mess Kofi Annon has created!!! No No, I agree with you.. the U.N. is all of that and a bag of chips.. I guess where I was coming from is they have these Machiavellian plans and the Keystone cops methods of follow through.. They are a danger and we really need to get out.. but thank GOD they arent better organised or we would already be be politically correct and extinct....(wait arent we already P.C.?? uh oh..)
