It depends on how near stock your rotating assembly is, we've just done a piston swap and if the pistons are around 50-60 grams lighter than the original ones we used the stock balance and didn't have problems in the 6000-7000 rpm range. Besides, since I'm sure the stock balance is 50/50 it would just help overbalance the assembly.
That is one high-priced machine shop! I hope they do excellent work. Balancing here runs about $125 and from any shop around here the largest bill I've ever seen is $1100.
